The center of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Shubham Speciality Hospital is a center of Excellence, which attracts hundreds of patients, including international patients and performs virtually every type of heart surgery. The department of cardiac science at Shubham Speciality Hospital specialize in offering surgery to high risk patients with innovative & latest techniques. They are available to perform surgeries round the clock and deal with any emergency cases within a very short notice.

Shubham Speciality Hospital has state of art Modular Cardiac Operation Theatres well equipped with:
  • Laminar Flow & EPOXY floring.
  • Advanced Multi Parameter Monitor facility.
  • Intraoperative TEE (Trancesophegal Echocardialogy)
  • Intra aortic Balloon Pump
  • Heart Lung Machine
and ultramodern Recovery Room (RR)/Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) for continuous post operation care.

The high standard of care is maintained with the help of dedicated cardiac surgical team which include Cardiac Surgeons, Cardiac Anaesthetists and of course well trained Nursing Staff, Intensivist and Perfusionists. This is reflected in excellent surgical results carried out at Shubham Speciality Hospital.

Shubham Speciality Hospital has become synonymous with the best in cardiac care and services for adults and children, in the northern part of India.

Shubham Speciality Hospital is located at Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), ancient city of India is well connected to other cities of India by road, rail as well as air. About hundreds of open heart procedures are carried out here every year.

Cath Labs:

Cardiac Cath lab is currently the hub of activity in any cardiac unit considering the increasing need for angiography/ percutaneous techniques like coronary angioplasty (ballooning). The Shubham Speciality Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is "state of the art" most advanced Cardiac Cath labs in northern part of India. Our Cath Lab offers services like:
  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
  • Angiography
  • Anigoplasty (PTCA)
  • Thoracic surgery (Lobutomy Pneumnectomy)
  • Percutaneous Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty (PBMV)
  • Temporary Pacemaker Implantation (TPI)
  • Permanent Pacemaker Implantation(PPI)
  • ASD/ VSD/TOF- Intra Cardiac Repair (Congenital Heart Malfunction)
1. CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)

A form of heart surgery that redirects blood around clogged arteries to increase blood flow and oxygen to the heart. This offers patients faster post-operative recovery with fewer complications. The cardiac surgeons at Shubham Speciality Hospital have great expertise and experience with CABG surgeries. We are versatile and handle critically ill patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction or diffusely diseased vessels. As we avoid the heart - lung machine, we can take on patients for CABG even when there are associated morbidities such as renal disease, compromised lung function or other coexisting diseases. We do total arterial revascularization of the heart off-pump with varying configurations of arterial conduits such as left/right internal mammary arteries, radial arteries, and gastro-epiploic arteries individualized to patient's requirements.

A) Beating Heart Surgery & on pump

Coronary Bypass Surgeries are performed using contemporary techniques including the off-pump bypass. During off-pump or beating heart surgery, the heart-lung machine is not used. The surgeon uses advanced operating equipment to stabilize (hold) portions of the heart and bypass the blocked artery in a highly controlled operative environment. Meanwhile, the rest of the heart keeps pumping and circulating blood to the body. This offers patients faster post-operative recovery and extracts less of a toll on their systems.

  Advantages of Beating Heart Surgery
  No requirement of blood transfusion
Cost saving over conventional bypass surgery
Minimal stay in the ICU and in the hospital
  Minimized chances of infection
  Faster rate of recovery

B) Minimally Invasive Surgery

Conventional CABG or coronary Bypass surgery is performed by splitting or cutting through the breastbone or sternum. MICAS or MICS CABG is a safe and complete operation that has revolutionised the way coronary surgery is performed. MICS CABG or MICAS stands for Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Surgery. It is a relatively new and advanced technique of performing coronary bypass for coronary artery disease. In this technique the heart is approached through the side of the left chest via a small 4cm incision.

2. Heart Valve Surgery

Specialized surgery which is performed for the treatment of abnormalities like Mitral Regurgitation (MR) (a valvular heart disease which results in the abnormal leaking of blood through the mitral valve, from the left ventricle into the left atrium of the heart), or Aortic Stenosis (a condition where the aortic valve becomes narrower than normal, impeding the flow of blood) are routinely performed.

3. Congenital Heart Surgery

4. Emergency Cardiac Surgery

Surgeries for treatment of complications caused by the dilatation of the aorta (aortic aneurysm), problems caused by irregular heart beat (arrhythmias - such as atrial fibrillation), heart failure, Marfan syndrome - a genetic disorder that causes cardiovascular abnormalities and other less common conditions are performed extensively.

5. Thoracic Surgery

Extensive and challenging thoracic procedures (lung, esophagus, etc.) are undertaken by our thoracic surgeons with the best results. These include operations for removal of malignancies from the lung and esophagus. They perform minimally invasive procedures on the lung and esophagus as well as VATS (Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery)

6. Vascular Surgery
  a) Embutecttomy
  b)Aorto Bi-femoral
